Caltrain serves dozens of stations between San Francisco and Gilroy* on weekdays.

Caltrain is a proof-of-purchase system. Passengers must have a valid ticket before boarding the train and must show their ticket to a conductor or fare inspector upon request. Those without a valid ticket may be cited and fined. Tickets aren't sold on the train.

Stations are equipped with ticket machines, and most stations offer both parking and bicycle access.

Caltrain makes it easy for customers to recycle at its stations.
